We are a small game development studio in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands. Founded by Jeroen Derwort and Bowie Derwort, with the goal to create memorable, intuitive and accessible games.

About Us

/ Who We Are

Independent game developers who have created award winning games.

Jeroen and Bowie go way back. Their first collaboration was Avalon, a game released in 1998 under the label MiG (MSX is Great). It was downloaded over 200,000 times and won the ZDNet Shareware Award in 2000.

In 2001, they teamed up again to launch Online Soccer Manager (OSM), which went on to reach millions of players around the world. After selling their studio, Gamebasics, to Miniclip in 2020, they reformed as Seven Mages Studio and created the indie platformer Penguin Panic!.

Inspiration

We love retro gaming.

8-bit Era

We grew up in the 8-bit era, when computers were first entering the homes of ordinary people. Games were simple but memorable. Limited resources required creativity from developers.

MSX

Our roots are on the MSX system. A system that above all else invited you to create. It sparked our imagination, which cemented the foundation of our game development careers.
